About Tommy

Tommy Costello is a multifaceted strength training and pitching coach renowned for his comprehensive approach to athlete development, especially in baseball. His expertise extends beyond physical training, delving into the mental and emotional aspects crucial for peak performance. Tommy's journey in sports began as a college baseball player at the University of Washington, Yavapai College later transferring to the University of the Pacific. His talent and dedication led him to a promising start in professional baseball, highlighted by an invitation to a pro ball winter camp during a particularly competitive season marked by a COVID-induced draft limitation.

Despite not being drafted, Tommy's exceptional performance at the camp caught the attention of multiple teams, leading to unprecedented contract offers. However, his rising career faced a significant setback when he suffered a second UCL tear in just his second game, abruptly ending his playing days. This personal experience with injury and recovery profoundly influenced his coaching philosophy.

Tommy is not just a coach but a mentor who emphasizes building strength and resilience to prevent the kind of injuries he endured. His qualifications are extensive, including multiple certifications in Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization, and Extreme Performance Training breathing which focus on vital aspects of rotation and the breath. Tommy's client roster is impressive, featuring athletes from the NFL and MLB, but he remains passionately committed to guiding players at all levels, from high school to collegiate and professional tiers.

Tommy Costello's approach is holistic, addressing the physical, mental, and emotional needs of his athletes. He blends his love for the game with a deep understanding of what it takes to excel in sports, continually guiding baseball players toward their aspirations with empathy, expertise, and unwavering dedication.
